Vintage Weekend September 24, 25, 26, 2010 Rantoul National Aviation Center

This pre-1949 only event will begin on Friday, September 24th at 8 am and will conclude at 3 pm on Sunday, September 26th. Participants and paid spectators will receive a 50% discount on admission to the Chanute Air Museum which is adjacent to the Vintage Weekend area.

Spectator admission is $8 on Friday and Sunday, $10 on Saturday.  Children under 16 will be admitted free with a paid adult admission.

Since this event is being held at an historic airfield, what would be more fitting than an AIRSHOW? That's right, in addition to all the cars, vendors, exhibits and displays, Saturday afternoon will feature a close-ground airshow. Participants and spectators will have a front row seat as historic, high-performance and stunt planes take to the air. The low level performances will take place over a runway directly adjacent to the show area and hangar, guaranteeing a totally unobstructed view of all the excitement, color and glamour. The planes will also be available for viewing before and after the performance.

We are pleased to announce that Revell will provide plastic model street rod kits for a Kids Make & Take. This will be a free activity for Participant children and will take place on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Our sincere thank you goes out to Revell.

For the early birds, Downtown Rantoul will host a Cruise & Dance, Thursday Evening, sponsored by T+T Tap and featuring Back Paiges.

There will be metal-working demonstrations throughout the event, with the craftsmen available for question and answer. This will not be a classroom approach, but a hands-on, this is how you do it demo.

P40 and Street RodSince we are combining vintage planes and Airshow for our Vintage Weekend we will have photo opportunities all weekend long with Vintage Planes specifically the P40.  Tom Frasca is providing the P40 and Judge Photography will be our event photographer.

The Friday night lineup includes Hardy's Reindeer Ranch Dinner Show and music & dancing to the "GTO'S"

In addition to the cars, swap meet, vendors and vintage airplanes, Saturday will bring a Ladies Tour to Hardy's Reindeer Ranch in the morning. The Air Show will take place early Saturday afternoon. Ryan Ideus and the Feuden Hillbillys will provide an evening of musical entertainment beginning at 7pm.

Sunday morning worship services begin at 9am. Prize giveaways will precede the 3pm closing of the event.

Online entry closes Monday, September 20th 8:00 AM CDT.  After that you can only register at Vintage Weekend.  Registration will start Thursday, September 23rd 2:00 PM CDT.
